About Us

Sangrock International Taekwondo was established in New Delhi, India in 1980 by Grand Master Abhai Singh Rathore. In 1998 we partnered with Black Belt World, and expanded Sangrock Int’l to Sangrock Black Belt World and opened our first school in Matthews, NC. Under the leadership of Grand Master Abhai Singh Rathore we have earned our reputation in the Mecklenburg County NC and Union County NC, by offering the most comprehensive and holistic system of Taekwondo training to our students.

Taekwondo is an Olympic Sport practiced around the world by youth, collegiate, and professional athelets. Taekwondo is characterized by its emphasis on flexiblity, speed, and a wide array of kicking techniques. While many see martial arts as an individual activity, Taekwondo is very much a TEAM sport. Students motivate and train together to achieve their next rank, overcome personal barriers, build leadership skills.

Sangrock Black Belt World is an educational, family-oriented institution, that offers focused instruction for children as young as 3 years to teens and adults, to achieve a strong mind and body built upon traditional values and morals.

We strive to have a family atmosphere where our students feel that they are a part of something truly amazing. This is not a business with customers, but a teacher and student relationship that develops over time with hard work and commitment.
